Frequently Asked Questions
It is not just about knowing everything about loan applications and processes. That is why we have collected the most important questions here, easily accessible.
Credit assessment is something that banks and lending institutions carry out before you are offered a loan.
Creditworthiness is often measured on a scale from 0 to 100.
CREDIT CHECKS
In simple terms, a credit check is an examination of your payment history, whether you have any negative payment or credit remarks and whether you have an acceptable income
CREDIT ASSESSMENT
A credit assessment is an analysis of the loan applicant’s general ability to pay
CREDIT INFORMATION AGENCIES
Credit information agencies have information about you from up to three years back in time.
Anyone who has a legitimate need to access this information can do so if, for example, you apply for a consumer loan, enter into an installment agreement in a store or take out a new mobile phone subscription.
Nine companies in Norway are licensed by the Norwegian Data Protection Authority to conduct credit information activities.
These companies retrieve information about you from the National Population Register, the Brønnøysund Register, debt collection companies or judgments in money claims cases
CREDIT CHECK YOURSELF
You can check this yourself by finding out what information the companies have about you.
Some charge money for providing this information, but if you refer to the Personal Data Act, they are obliged to give you a free printout.
If you find that the information the agencies have about you is incorrect, you can demand that they correct it.
You can apply for a loan both online and by phone.
The easiest way is to apply online.
If the loan is approved, you can upload documents and sign the agreement with BankID on a code chip or mobile together with a password.
If the loan is approved, we will always send you an email with the loan offer and an SMS.
We offer loan amounts from NOK 5,000-800,000.
Your borrowing capacity is assessed individually in the application.
If you apply together with someone, it will often increase the chance of borrowing the amount you want and there are also better chances of getting an overall better interest rate or a higher loan amount.
In order to apply for a consumer loan with us, these criteria must be met:
- You have no debt collection cases
- You are at least 23 years old
- You have a fixed income of at least NOK 230,000
- You have lived and paid taxes in Norway for the last three years
- You must undergo a credit check
Customers usually receive an answer to their loan application during the day.
If you apply in the afternoon or evening, you will receive an answer in the morning of the following day.
If you apply during the weekend, you will receive a response on the first working day after the weekend.
Most banks send loan documents by email and ask you to sign with BankID.
The loan will be in your account within 1-3 business days.
Otherwise, normal postal service applies.
Yes, you can repay all or part of your loan at any time, whenever you want. Paying off the loan also costs nothing.
Our partner banks assess all loan applications individually in each case.
The information you provide in your application will form the basis of the interest rate offer you receive, and it is this interest rate that determines the actual price of the loan.
If you apply for a loan together with someone else, your chances of getting a lower interest rate and the loan amount you want also increase.
We have a maximum repayment period of 15 years.
There can be many reasons why your loan application is rejected.
Usually it means that one or more of the criteria are not met.
The criteria that must be met are:
- You have no debt collection cases
- You are at least 23 years old
- You have a fixed income of at least SEK 230,000
- You have lived and paid taxes in Norway for the past three years
- You must undergo a credit check
If it turns out that you have a payment history, it is fortunately possible that this can be deleted and the criteria for applying for a loan can therefore still be met.
